Hints, Tips, Tricks & Best Practices:

Best Practices:

  • Use the Web Service to Create Static Files
Though our Web Service gives you real-time access to the AllPosters.com database, we recommend that you use the service to create static files rather than having your users dynamically hit the database. We routinely perform maintenance on our database which requires taking the database offline. If you create your website so that it is wholly dependent on the database in real-time, then your site will experience an outage while we perform maintenance.
  • Have a Back-up Plan
If you do decide to create your site in such a way that it generates pages dynamically by hitting the Web Service in real-time, then we strongly recommend that you have a back-up plan in place in case the Web Service becomes inaccessible. How to achieve this is up to you, but one recommendation would be to create static files also and then to program your site to use the static files if it cannot access the Web Service.

Hints, Tips & Tricks:

  • Looking for Category Information?
Our Web Service is meant for you to query Product Information. If you also want category information, that is available by using our datafeed generator.
